As a first-time school mom, I had no idea where to start with teachers' gifts. What kind of gifts do they want? Are there gift ideas that they don't want?
I am a practical gift giver, so I will often ask the recipient for a wish list, but I know sometimes that isn't as fun for them either. ☺️
I went to Threads to ask for some gift ideas for teachers. Boy, did I get lots of ideas! After 400+ comments, many of them from teachers and former teachers, I learned what teachers want and don't want.
The top two suggestions were (🥁🥁🥁) gift cards and handwritten notes or cards.
While this may sound boring, especially if you love gift giving, I found it refreshing to hear from teachers and what they love.
There were, of course, also some teachers who said they love the mugs, candles, and knick-knacks. But for the most part, teachers said they don't want knick-knacks and "best teacher ever" gifts.
I put together a little note with the top suggestions and some of the most recommended gift ideas.
While gift cards were the top suggested gift idea, I wanted to give our teacher a little something to go with the gift card. So I put together an idea list on Amazon for all of us. 🥳
